Things are beginning to happen quite fast in the garden although it has been very cold and wet. I have quite a few herbs already including two small parsley plants although those are getting smaller rather than larger and it looks as though I'll have to replace them.

I have two really healthy sage plants, one in a pot and the other in the garden which I've been picking all winter.

The rosemary is in flower and has survived all winter although it is rather deep in the heavy clay soil and I worry about it.

The red veined sorrel which I have had for several years remained as one plant until last year when it suddenly spread itself all over the garden so I have plenty of that now.

And I have two small thymes which are intended to go into the front parking space but I need a lot of them and am nursing them in the back for the time being.

I have several Cyclamen coum, (otherwise known as eastern sourbread, I can't imagine why) the small spring-flowering ones which are tiny but look wonderful when other things are not out yet. They are good grown underneath shrubs in part shade. They are very hardy but need mulching with compost in early autumn to keep them damp.

This is as usual a wonderful post.
