Bird Baths, Bees and Plants For Hot Weather

Coloured concrete bird bath
I keep four water containers full for the birds, specially in hot weather. They are an odd lot but the birds use them all. There is the special one in blue concrete, created by my sculptor friend Carole Vincent in Cornwall, there is the bottom of a plastic rubbish bin and a largeish terra cotta pot holder and then at the top of the garden,  one I got to put on an empty stand. They are all used and get filled up once a day.

The clematis jackmanii has really come into its own now. It has loved the sun.

The other things that have really thrived without being watered are the pansies and the blue grass which both came from my cheap deliveries from the wonderful Woodlark Nurseries that delivers to central  London.

  4. Never mind watering the garden, keeping the bird baths supplied with water on a daily basis seem like a huge job in itself ! Rom
