Tiny mouse making the most of night-time to use the pond
|
The pond, although it has a small hole in it, is leaking very slowly and houses plenty of wildlife. I know there are several small frogs in it and my camera has discovered a blackbird and a mouse at night and, of course, the fox. I keep the surroundings full of long grass and shrubs so the frogs will be fox-protected and so far, that seems to be working.

The bug preventer, which captures the male bugs that eat the plums and apples have been put up a bit late this year. I don't know how well they will protect the plants but it's worth a go I reckon.

Find out about wild bees and pollinators Join the Green City Project's Woodland Project @ St Paul's Church for a guided walk on Saturday 6 July to discuss bees and other pollinators buzzing in and around Camden Square. The walk will be led by entomologist Konstantinos Tsiolis of Pollinating London Together and community gardener Catherine Tidman, Green City Projects. If it rains too hard (bees don't like rain) Konstantinos Tsiolis will give a talk indoors on bees. Spaces are limited, so book early at Eventbrite: Wild Bee Walk.
gorgeous photo of the bird :) Thanks
ReplyDeleteRom - the bee looks as if he's seccumbed to the heat, like me ! - and I had to get my magnifier out to discover the mouse. Great to be able to catch things on camera like that.
ReplyDeleteI realised the mouse was a bit small, but I thought it looked good once you'd found it!
